This policy explains how Detours & Deeds (“we”, “us”, or “the game”) handles information when you visit the website or play the game.
Information we collect
- Account information: your email address and, when you use Google sign-in, the basic profile information Google shares with us, such as your name, profile image and account identifier.
- Player content: player names, avatars, game rooms, invitations, settings, progress, purchases made with in-game credits and other gameplay actions.
- Technical and security information: IP address, browser and device information, request logs, error details and Cloudflare Turnstile results used to operate and protect the service.
- Local browser data: session information, preferences, active room details and invitation context needed to keep you signed in and restore your journey.
- Messages you send us: the contents of support or privacy enquiries.
How we use information
We use this information to authenticate players, save and synchronize games, show player profiles and avatars, run multiplayer rooms, prevent abuse, diagnose problems, improve the beta and respond to enquiries. We do not sell personal information or use it for targeted advertising.
Service providers
We use Supabase for authentication and database services, Google for optional sign-in, and Cloudflare for hosting, storage, content delivery and bot protection. These providers process information under their own terms and privacy policies. Information may be processed in countries other than your own.
Sharing
Player names, avatars and gameplay activity are visible to people in the same game room. We may disclose information when required by law, to protect players or the service, or as part of a business transfer. We otherwise share information only with providers needed to operate the game.
Retention and deletion
We keep information for as long as needed to provide the service, protect its security, meet legal obligations and resolve disputes. Because the game is in beta, retention periods may change. You may request access to or deletion of your account information by emailing privacy@detoursanddeeds.com. Some records may be retained where legally required or necessary for security.
Your choices
You may play certain modes as a guest, choose whether to link Google or an email address, update your player name or avatar, and clear local browser data. Clearing browser data may remove access to an unlinked guest account. Depending on where you live, you may also have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict or receive a copy of your personal information.
Children
Detours & Deeds is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can review and remove it where appropriate.
